We are not alone....

Hello my lovelies, thank you for stopping by and reading this blog, it means the world to me. Today I would like to share the first card I made for my Cardmaker of the Year 2023 entry. Quite a while ago I made some backgrounds using shimmer sprays on black card which I think looks like a galaxy in space and perfect for an alien card. In my stash I have a load of teepee card blanks after I went through a bit of a phase making them but not decorating them.
I used a Visible Image stamp set called Alien Invader and stamped out a selection of the images, several of most of them. I coloured them in using alcohol markers (Promarkers and Tonic Nuvo) then fussy cut around them leaving a thin border - I coloured all the white bits in with black so they would blend into the background. I added holographic mats to the galaxy backgrounds and stuck them down to the sides of the teepee card. I also put a white mat inside the card so there's somewhere to write then went to town decorating it with the fussy cut elements.
I made an envelope for the card using my WRMK Envelope Punch Board and decorated it using the same stamps.
I hope you like my card and I hope to share the final card in my entry in the next couple of days. Until next time Craft Yourself Pink! Sarah x

Late again...

Hello my lovelies and thank you for stopping by and reading this blog. Later then planned I'd like to share the first of my entries to The Cardmaker of the Year 2023. I thought I would share the cards and project in the order they were made so the first thing I am showcasing is the gem heart in frame. I don't make non-card projects very often because I prefer cardmaking, I had a lot of ideas but wanted to keep things simple and elegant. In my stash I have a Hunkydory Punch It! papercraft pad 2. It is supposed to be used with a Premier screw hole punch which I don't have so I used different sized gems instead. I made the frame using a die from my stash and cut it out of black cardstock. Although I liked it plain, I thought there was something lacking in the design so added a die cut butterfly from my stash.
I hope you like my little project, I found it very inspiring to shop from my stash this year instead of buying the latest thing as I've done previously. For a number of years my hobby was craft buying instead of craft making. I am ready to start crafting on a more regular basis. Don't get me wrong I still love to shop especially if it's a crafty bargain but everyone is impacted by the high prices of basics like food and electricity etc so I need to shop wisely and make my stash my first stop instead of my last. Crafty hugs - Sarah xxxx

A card share.

Hello my lovelies, welcome to the first card share in months! I was planning on adding these cards a week ago but I managed to break my reading glasses and couldn't see well enough to write a blog post - I'm at that age where I get my phone out in a restaurant not to take Instagram worthy photos but to use the light to read the menu with lol, so breaking my glasses has quite an impact because I can't read without them! I now have three spare pairs in case of accidents. (note to self: do not put in a safe - you'll never find them again!) 😄 I am going to share my entry to Practical Publishing's Card Maker of the Year 2023. For the first time ever I actually send my entry in about three weeks before the closing date instead of last minute like previous years, the other difference is I made things I'd like to receive myself instead of what I think the judges want to see. I actually had a lot of fun making the cards and project plus for the most part I have enough leftovers to make another version of them (I turn 50 in about six months and I'm making myself the Steampunk Betty card for my husband to give me so I get a card this year. I didn't get one last year because we both got COVID a few days before my birthday.) I am going to share the complete entry in this post then add an individual post for each item another time. It's been quite a while since I've blogged so I hope the photos add properly and you enjoy my entry. Until next time - keep crafting yourself pink! Sarah x
